Shifra & Puah

The Lubavitcher Rebbe, M"HM, instituted the Shifra & Puah organization in Kfar Chabad in 5737 (1976) to help new mothers with all their post-partum needs. The name of the organization was Shifra and Puah, after the two midwives who during the Egyptian exile did not allow the difficult reality to dictate the Jewish agenda.

Beit Moshiach, Inverrary, Florida, is home to many young families, many of whom live here without any close or supportive family. In 2014, we launched Shifrah & Puah to help support new mothers after birth. Regardless of affiliation, each new mother receives a beautiful package with diapers, wipes and essentials for the new baby, gift certificates for a wig set and massage, and a monetary sum for cleaning help. We also provide a week's worth of hot breakfasts for the new mom and dinner for the whole family.
